Yggdrasil enters Bulgaria through alphawin deal, strengthening Balkan footprint

Malta-based iGaming company Yggdrasil has signed a partnership with Bulgarian operator alphawin, marking its entry into the country's online casino and sports betting market.

The integration, powered by EGT Digital, gives alphawin players access to Yggdrasil's proprietary games as well as content from independent studios under the YGG Masters and YGG Champions programmes.

Popular titles including Valley of the Gods, Raptor 2 DoubleMax, and Multifly!2 MultiMax are now live. More releases are planned over the coming months.

For Yggdrasil, founded in 2013, this is the latest in a series of Balkan market entries following recent partnerships in Croatia, Romania and Serbia.

The region is becoming a strategic priority for the company, according to Olga Degtiareva, Regional Manager at Yggdrasil.

"The Balkans is an increasingly important market for Yggdrasil," Degtiareva said. "The region continues to mature, presenting significant opportunities for growth, and establishing a strong presence across individual markets is a key part of our strategy."

Radoslav Milanov, Head of Casino at alphawin, framed the deal around product quality. "Our mission is to provide players with a complete gaming experience and access to top-quality content," he said. "Partnering with Yggdrasil is a natural fit with that ambition."

For Malta's iGaming sector, the deal underscores how locally headquartered studios are using content aggregation and regional distribution deals to capture growth in emerging European markets, diversifying revenue streams beyond the island's own licence base.
