VisitMalta has secured a Gold 2025 Award at the Travel Weekly Magellan Awards for the second consecutive year. The recognition, earned through the 'Explore more' video campaign, comes from a US-based programme judged by an exclusive panel of top travel professionals and industry luminaries.

The Malta Tourism Authority also won a separate award in collaboration with TravelZoo for the 'Best Bets 2025' campaign. Malta was one of nine key destinations featured by the travel publisher.

The recognition from US travel professionals could influence booking decisions among travel advisors and suppliers across North America.

MTA CEO Carlo Micallef said the recognition reinforces the authority's strategy in attracting high-quality travellers from the North American market through finely focused marketing and achieving the best utilisation of flight connectivity to Malta.

The Magellan Awards are hosted by Travel Weekly, a leading business-to-business travel trade publication in North America. Entries are not judged by the public but by hand-picked travel industry leaders.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tourism Hon. Ian Borg described the awards as a testament to the continued commitment to showcase the Maltese Islands as a leading destination on the global tourism stage.

For Malta's hospitality sector, these back-to-back awards strengthen the destination's credentials in a market that MTA has prioritised for high-spend visitors. The recognition from US travel professionals could influence booking decisions among travel advisors and suppliers across North America.
