MTA's new digital hub aims to cut red tape for tourism operators

MTA launches a revamped corporate website consolidating licensing, data, and departmental info to ease compliance for tourism businesses.
The Malta Tourism Authority has launched a new corporate website, consolidating its licensing, data, and departmental information into a single digital platform. The move is designed to make it easier for tourism operators to navigate regulatory requirements and access market intelligence.
The site, now live at mta.com.mt, brings together news, events, a licensing area with documentation and guidance, a resources section with publications, and an insights hub featuring up-to-date statistics and reports. An 'About Us' section outlines the Authority's structure and provides direct contact details for each department.
CEO Carlo Micallef said the platform reinforces MTA's commitment to transparency, efficiency, and customer-centric service. "The website is designed to support our industry partners, facilitate regulatory and licensing processes, and to keep everyone informed about the work MTA does to sustain and grow the tourism industry of Malta, Gozo and Comino."
For tourism businesses, the centralised licensing area could reduce the time spent searching for forms and guidance. The availability of real-time data and reports also gives operators a clearer picture of sector performance, aiding investment decisions.
The launch is part of MTA's broader digital strategy to modernise communication channels. The Authority said it aims to ensure reliable, up-to-date information is readily available to all users locally and internationally.
