Genius Sports raises guidance again after Q2 revenue jumps 65%

Genius Sports lifted full-year revenue and EBITDA guidance for the second straight quarter after Q2 revenue beat expectations at $195.5m.
Genius Sports has raised its full-year guidance for the second consecutive quarter after reporting stronger-than-expected Q2 results. Group revenue hit $195.5m, up 65% year-on-year and ahead of the $185m forecast.
Adjusted EBITDA also beat guidance, reaching $52.6m against a $45m target. The data provider now expects full-year revenue of $1.01bn to $1.03bn, up from the restated $990m to $1.01bn after Q1. Full-year adjusted EBITDA is forecast at $285m to $295m, compared with the previous $270m to $280m range.
Growth was led by the Media Technology, Content & Services segment, where revenue surged 193% to $78.2m. Genius attributed this primarily to the acquisition of sports media business Legend, which closed in May for around $1.2bn. Demand for the Genius Sports Moment Engine and GeniusIQ-powered products also contributed.
Betting Technology, Content & Services remained the main revenue driver, rising 28% to $117.4m. Genius cited price increases on contract renewals, expansion of value-add services, and growth in existing markets.
CEO Mark Locke said the company is realising the benefits of years of infrastructure investment. "Advertisers are placing greater value on our combination of official data and audience, prediction markets are opening an entirely new avenue for growth, and our core betting business continues to outperform," he said.
Locke also highlighted the early impact of the Legend integration. "In our first quarter as a combined business, we exceeded guidance on revenue, adjusted EBITDA and cash, raised our full-year outlook, and are already seeing the benefits," he added.
Despite the revenue beat, net loss widened to $76.7m from $53.9m, driven by higher operating costs and increased tax payments. Operating loss, however, narrowed from $80.7m to $55.7m.
For the first half, total revenue reached $383.5m, up 46% year-on-year. Adjusted EBITDA rose 42% to $76.6m.
Genius also signed several key deals during or after the quarter, including a technology and AI partnership with Liga MX in Mexico, an agreement with the Swiss Football League, and deals with prediction market giants Polymarket and Kalshi.
For Malta's iGaming and betting supply ecosystem, these results underscore the growing value of official data and prediction market integration. As Genius scales its GeniusIQ platform, local operators and suppliers may face increased competition or new partnership opportunities in a market where data-driven products are becoming table stakes.
