Computime and PwC Digital Services have announced a strategic collaboration to bring practical artificial intelligence solutions to the Maltese market. The partnership will initially target the insurance and gaming sectors, two industries where Malta holds significant economic weight.

The collaboration combines Computime's 45 years of ICT expertise with PwC's global advisory network and local regulatory knowledge. Dr Vincent Vella, Computime's CTO, said the partnership builds on a joint venture formed two years ago to deliver regulatory reporting solutions.

Our focus is on delivering tangible value and measurable outcomes for our clients and stakeholders, while ensuring the right guardrails, governance, and responsible AI practices are in place.

"This collaboration amplifies what each organisation does best," Vella said. "PwC Malta brings unmatched market and regulatory insights coupled with strategic business and digital transformation capabilities, while Computime delivers the technologies that make modern digital operations possible."

Andrew Schembri, Digital Services Leader at PwC Malta, emphasised the focus on responsible AI. "Our focus is on delivering tangible value and measurable outcomes for our clients and stakeholders, while ensuring the right guardrails, governance, and responsible AI practices are in place."

The two organisations aim to help clients reduce risk and accelerate adoption of AI. They will blend global knowledge with local market realities, including regulatory expectations and sector dynamics.

Computime employs over 100 professionals and partners with global technology providers including Microsoft, HPE, and IBM. PwC Malta Digital Services is a fully owned subsidiary of PwC Malta, part of a network spanning 136 countries.

The move signals a push to embed AI into core business operations in Malta's insurance and gaming sectors. For local businesses, the collaboration offers integrated expertise that could shorten the path from strategy to implementation.
