Carnival Freedom to Call on Valletta in October 2026 Mediterranean Cruise
Carnival Freedom will dock in Valletta on October 9, 2026, as part of an eight-night Mediterranean cruise from Barcelona.
Carnival Cruise Line has confirmed Valletta as a port of call for the Carnival Freedom during its upcoming Mediterranean season.
The 2,974-passenger ship will arrive in Malta on October 9, 2026, as part of an eight-night roundtrip cruise from Barcelona.
The itinerary also includes stops in Marseille, Livorno and Naples, giving the vessel a full tour of the western Mediterranean.
The Carnival Freedom set off from Port Canaveral on August 21, beginning a 14-night trans-Atlantic crossing to Barcelona.
That repositioning voyage includes a visit to Carnival's private destination Celebration Key, followed by nine days at sea before reaching Tangier in late August.
After calling at Málaga and Alicante, the ship is scheduled to arrive in Barcelona on September 1.
Before starting its Mediterranean programme, the Carnival Freedom will undergo a drydock in Europe for routine maintenance and minor updates to its public areas. Further details on the refurbishment are expected later.
Following the October 9 sailing, the ship will begin a 13-night repositioning cruise back to North America in mid-October, calling at Alicante, Málaga, Gibraltar and Celebration Key before reaching Port Canaveral.
For the 2026-27 winter season, the Carnival Freedom will operate four- and five-night cruises to the Bahamas from Port Canaveral, with stops at Nassau, Celebration Key and Half Moon Cay.
The vessel is scheduled to reposition to Norfolk in May 2027, taking over itineraries currently served by the Carnival Sunshine.
Malta's inclusion in the Carnival Freedom's Mediterranean rotation reinforces the island's standing as a regular port of call for major cruise brands during the 2026 season.
