BNF Bank has appointed Glen Smith as Chief Banking Officer and Tiziana Bugeja as Chief Risk Officer. Both appointments take effect from 1 September 2026, subject to approval by the Malta Financial Services Authority.

Smith brings more than 30 years of experience in banking and financial services. He previously served as BNF Bank's Chief Risk Officer. In his new role, he will oversee the bank's retail, commercial and corporate banking activities, together with customer experience, business development and strategic banking initiatives.

Bugeja has more than 17 years of experience in banking, with the past 15 years at BNF Bank, most recently as Head of Risk. Her background covers enterprise risk management, treasury, financial markets and regulatory compliance. She also has experience in investment portfolios and asset-liability management, and has advised boards and executive committees on risk-related matters.

BNF Bank confirmed there are no matters concerning either Smith or Bugeja that require disclosure under Capital Market Rules sections 5.20.5 to 5.20.9.

The appointments strengthen two important areas of the bank's senior management structure: core banking operations and overall risk oversight. For a bank competing in Malta's concentrated financial services market, having experienced leadership in both revenue-generating and risk-control functions is critical.

The reshuffle signals continuity in BNF Bank's management approach. Promoting internally for the risk role while shifting Smith from risk to the banking side could indicate a strategic focus on growing the bank's commercial and corporate lending operations while maintaining tight risk management under Bugeja.
